Virginia-Highlands

Virginia-Highland is a historic residential neighborhood east of Midtown Atlanta. This area is famous for its bungalows and other historic houses from the 1910s-1920s as well as its eclectic mix of restaurants, bars, and shops. In 2011,
Creative Loafing voted VaHi the Best Overall Neighborhood and Atlanta Magazine designated VaHi as "favorite neighborhood overall. Readers of Creative Loafing also voted Virginia Highlands as the Best Walkable Neighborhood of Atlanta in 2012. In addition to its walk-ability, Virginia Highlands is served by several MARTA bus routes that connect to all MARTA rail lines making transportation to and from the Atlanta area a breeze.

The neighborhood contains many parks including Atlanta's landmark, Piedmont Park; the BeltLine also runs through the neighborhood. Virginia Highlands also hosts the yearly Summerfest arts and music festival as well as the VaHi Tour of Historic Homes. In May, Taste of the Highlands is held in John Howell Park, featuring samplings from favorite neighborhood restaurants and live music.
